“If you live in America, you should speak a little Spanish” is one of my favorite comebacks to anyone who complains about not being able to interact with a Spanish speaker.
It’s crazy how resistant Americans are to being bilingual while it’s normal to be bilingual and trilingual in other countries
According to wiki, 80% + of the population of Madawaska, Maine speak French at home. I thought that was so interesting when I learned that. Maybe someone here from Maine can confirm that?
More Alaskans speak native languages and Tagalog then Spanish
Obviously high schools should require students to take a couple of foreign language courses in Spanish or another language.

Can’t believe that people in Vermont don’t speak more French than Spanish. Kind of calling BS on that.
The only country with more Spanish speakers than the US is Mexico.
These other languages need to start stepping their game up.
