Winter Olympics just isn’t Canada’s forte. We don’t ski well. We don’t skate well. These aren’t any of the things Canada cares about.
So we have hockey. Two medals. And that are given at the end of the games. And even these are highly unsuitable for a deterministic outcome.
Which is why Canada should never ever host the Olympics. We would be embarrassed on the world stage. Losing every gold medal. Not a good look.
Everyone knows the Summer Olympics is where it’s at. NO ONE cares about the Winter Olympics ❄️

So jacking up the prices of sports participation across the country was a bad idea for national development then? Who knew?
We need a system like Norway ASAP where youth sports are given proper public funding and ranking athletes is delayed until 13. The ranking thing seems counterproductive, but in reality it just leads to far less of the late bloomers (some of which end up being elite) being knocked out of any chances before they even hit high school.
If there was events for Uber Eats and fast food services, we’d have golds!
