Four years ago, the lives of every child in Ukraine changed forever overnight. One day at home,

in class and playing with friends. The next, hiding in shelters, fleeing their homes and in shock.

Based on official UNICEF Ukraine data, the child population has declined from 7 million to 5 million over the past four years and in 2025, Ukraine recorded 162,778 live births, the lowest number ever in the country.
