      I’m sure all the attention they’re receiving is a double edged sword. While the support must be nice, all the extra media and leaders going there must also make it quite overwhelming for them, at a time of grief too.

    2. Let’s hope that support doesn’t end when the cameras go away, these people will need years of therapy.

      As a parent this is my worst nightmare and I am filled with emotion just even trying to contemplate what those affected families are going through. I have no words other than to offer sympathy and support for the community of Tumbler Ridge and I truly appreciate how all our politicians put politics to the way side to be there for that community – no matter your political leaning that doesnt matter at this time. Leaders of all the parties were there firsthand to feel everything and hear the stories of those people who experienced the worst day of their lives and I applaud all of them for that.

      This is all so heartbreaking. Listening to people from the community talk brought a tear to my eye. I especially admire the man I saw talking about how mental health services are inadequate. This should have been preventable.

      That was the most gut wrenching thing I have ever sat through. I felt it was the least I could do.

      I have never been so sad yet so proud of where I live. So many poignant iconic Canadian moments.

      The one I most remember than the camera caught was when the Chief opened the vigil by having everyone stand, hold hands while he sang the prayer in his language. And as everyone held hands while he sang, the camera caught Carney and Poilievre, who were standing waiting to speak, holding hands
