Poor Huxton. Opening beside an established business that is a nightclub. How could they ever have known??? Yamamori will have to stop now, even though they were there first. Even though they are keeping nightlife *somewhat* alive in Dublin. The hotels needs are much more. /s

Buy a hotel next to a restaurant/nightclub and act shocked when its loud.
Knowing Ireland the courts will side with the hotel and one of Dublins few alright clubs will shut down.

„New“ being the key issue here. I don’t love the idea that they possibly bought this with the intention of then doing this to an established business.
Knowing the country were in, could probably work too

Some highly relevant added information:
> The hotel owners bought the The Globe and Ri-Ra either side of Yamamori and both of them have also been refurbished, so as you said its probably to muscle them out of the space in between them as both places would cause the same level of noise under the hotel.
> There’s plans for a nightclub on the basement of the Hoxton so id say there is serious conflict of interest. Just trying to muscle out the competition
€300,000 in losses. How many fucking rooms have they got? Judge should have slapped them.

The rest of the nightclubs have been shut down so things like this are all we got and they want to close it??
One wonders what the tourists would ever come here for after another few years of this.

I’ve stayed in one in the UK. Bizarre hotel chain trying for some kind of uber chic nonsense. If there’s one thing Dublin needs, it’s more hotels.

We have to be loud about this.

Considering what they’ve done to the Library Bar (i.e. ruined it) I hope they fail in getting this injunction. Karma.

Its almost as if we have this magic technology called „sound proofing“ and „acoustic dampening“ and there are building materials available to builders and architects which would help avoid noise problems in their shiny new hotel.

Fuck them they bought it knowing it was there.
Isikaya is also a great night out

Trying to put a noise limit on the literal home of cocaine in Dublin is a wild thing to do

Lads I used to drink in the library bar in the central when I lived in Dublin. 15 years. I stayed at the huxton this week for a night. It is a massacre. You could be anywhere in the world.
Staff were nice but our window was completely opaque and you couldn’t open it. It was like a prison cell. The library bar is gone too. One of the best bars in the Dublin.

I’ve been to the Hoxton & its a solid meh. The one is London is equally meh – its basically a ground floor of an uninspiring building floor full of bearded guys tapping on laptops, while sipping something expensive, & is supposedly hip. The Dublin outlet was big on do-you-have-a-reservation, which is a turn-off. Its all very ‚curated‘. At least the previous establishment just allowed you buy a pint & relax. I don’t know who the Hoxton is aimed at – well heeled British tourists , who know the name, or locals, who dont & dont care. I’m not sure its pitch is right & will it succeed……….🤔
