Some? Nothing’s certain on the Street, but a jobs correction? Lock it in.

Because it doesn’t make sense, not to the Fed, not to Wall Street, not to economists, not to anyone with a passing knowledge of how labor statistics work

I think in this tinpot dictatorship of an administration, Donald Trump just gave them the number, and they went with it.

  4. I can’t wait for March to have added 50 million jobs and give us negative unemployment.

  5. FUCKING LOL! As if „folks on Wall Street“ have some magical insight that half of America doesn’t?

We all know the Trump Administration is full of shit. Doesn’t take some degenerate gambler having self-congratulatory martinis at Cipriani’s to tell us that maybe Trump is lying this time.

  6. No need to lower interest rates then, right? They’ve really cornered themselves on this one.

Hahaha. I love the situation these stupid fucks have put themselves in.

Trump DEMANDS that the Fed drop interest rates. But he also wants to fake the jobs numbers, to make it look like unemployment is down. Except, evidence of job growth is a reason to NOT drop interest rates, and perhaps even raise them.

  8. This is the same administration that fired long time neutral experts doing statistics for the government because they didn’t like the statistics.

  9. What’ll the missive to Winston Smith say in Newspeak?

Winston rectify Feb jobnums; plusungood to planwise. vaporize oldspeak refs.

We now live in a political climate where one party has discovered thay there are no consequences for lying because their base only gets news from sources that would never call them out on the lie. So why not just lie as much as you want?

These people are literally lying and fudging key economic data and nobody is gonna do jack shit about it? Cool.

Smart people: can “we the people” call for a
Complete audit of the US government since the new abomination took over?

Look I don’t like this administration as the next guy, but i’m not entirely sold that the BLS is just “making up” numbers to appease Trump. These reports take teams to put together, run analyses, check analyses, etc. All the underlying data is available to the public. There are just too many contact points in which if something was being fudged, it’d get caught or someone would whistle blow.

These are population survey estimates. Key word being estimates. They take samples that are meant to be representative of the general public and essentially extrapolate. There is room for error, statistical noise, variation. Especially when BLS uses 90% confidence intervals. Do i think this number is correct. No not entirely, but I also don’t think it’s being maliciously manipulated at this point. Top economists, even left leaning ones, still trust BLS numbers.

such a bullshit title. „some“ folks? only those with functioning braincells

  15. When are they going to figure out anything this administration says is just lies?

The fact that some of them think its plausible should give us some pause.

I’m seeing articles about how middle income people are selling blood-plasma to make ends meet and these job numbers come out? This is same administration that wanted to stop testing for COVID so the numbers would just magically go down. Manipulating the statistics does not change what is actually happening only an Orange Cheetus would think that makes sense.

An admin guy said don’t be surprised it’s 50k to Fox business before they were released, and said this is the new reality with policies and they still cooked the numbers to 115k 😂

Jobs for professionals that pay livable wages have dropped. Jobs, if you want to work for Walmart, Dollar General, various other low wage entities are easily filled. If you are in marketing, or individuals with no or little computer skills, the job situation has contracted. And it will get worse.

I genuinely can’t remember the last time I heard or read a story of a “company creating jobs”. Not in the US, Canada, UK etc. like nothing anywhere was mentioned or posted but the US in its utter shitshow state managed to pull a massive net positive on job growth?
