You would never know by this clip how much of an absolute badass Daniel Inouye was. He was the most decorated soldier of the most decorated unit of the entire European Theater, and he did all this while overcoming abject racism exerted to him by his own government. I get chills just thinking about what his eyes have seen

My dad was a navigator on B 24’s. He had some stories that I got chills from. They were all bad asses to me. My ex fil fought hand to hand in the Chosin Basin. Got blown up twice, lost 8 toes to frostbite and had a mug on his dresser with all the shrapnel that worked its way out.
