ingya being the world’s largest stateless population is something that doesn’t register enough in western coverage. over a million people with no legal nationality after the 2017 crisis. the gulf states also have a notable stateless population (bidun) that rarely gets mentioned

In Australia, most probably illegal migrants pretending to be stateless so they don’t get deported

Nearly all of the stateless population in Bangladesh are Rohingya refugees from Myanmar, forced out during the 2017 ethnic cleansing/genocide. Myanmar stripped them of citizenship, as a group, in 1982. And now it says it will never have an obligation to let them back in because they’re not citizens.

Bangladesh because of rohingya ethnic cleansed from Myanmar

Myanmar denies citizenship for their rohingya

Syrian baathists denied citizenships to many Kurds but I heard that the new Syrian government is planning to nationalization them

Latvia I assume because of ethic Russians who also go denied citizenships.

When Kuwait was founded they denied citizenships to Beduion tribes and ethnic Persian.

    What about the rest?

The stateless in Latvia are people who REFUSE to assimilate due to their ornate beliefs of their obviously incorrect beliefs they are superior, absolutely no sympathy, actually most are related to illegal immigrants from the 1940’s

  6. Brunei – mainly those of ethnic Chinese descent with long term residency but are stateless despite having lived there for generations.
A policy of systemic racism against non-Malay ethnic groups is to blame for this phenomenon.
