      I’m not gonna read this article… I want to guess… a Super Bowl ad about finding lost pets which could and should be interpreted as Big Brother is watching the movements of everyone at all times? Which comes as a shock to dozens of people?

      Police can use it.

      Ring has partnered with Flock, who are in cahoots with ICE.

      Flock has been known to delete video.

      Crazy idea, if AI is watching these feeds 24/7 – instead of destroying these devices we should just set them in front of a TV all day and allow them to fatten up on all the slop, copy written content, and whatever else is on TV to help skew the algorithms. I bet their AI would love a dose of the Golden girls or Judge Judy.

      Going after ring only is misguided. We shouldn’t be giving away our data to companies or cloud services. Many of the major security cam products are no different than ring.

      Use a locally hosted security system. Host the data yourself. Make the FBI come to your home to get the data so you know something is being investigated.

      Destroying is overdoing it, just turn on end to end encryption. There is actually no way for them to crack it besides them getting access to your phone. Not even a warrant can get them access if you don’t use biometric authentication

      Because they are paranoid morons that can’t figure out how to disable basic settings and opt-out of things like the stupid „pet finder“ feature or sharing access with neighbors and police.

      Just go into settings and opt out of search party. It’s crazy Ring just opt’d everyone in when rolling it out.

      Told her buy another to watch it, then another to watch that one, then another, then another.

      Most of your guys shit isn’t even that nice to warrant a camera. Or you have a family member you need to sit down and actually talk to, you know the one, that one that steals from you and makes you feel like you need a camera.

      Talking camera inside the house, and these people are worried about privacy concerns…. Insane.

      All anyone would know on mine is how many Amazon packages I get but then they know that already. I only get notified when there’s an actual person at my door, not every time my neighbor leaves their house. Nothing to see here.

      Same reason people cover there webcams. Worry about privacy. And the Super Bowl just caused a panic. But people thinking they have privacy in this day and age is sadly not true. Chill.
