Then why is Ukraine letting Trump even have a say in the negotiations? He is bringing nothing to the table. Europe has the cards now.
My take is europe should directly talk to russia , come on a peace solution , create a common defense force , strengthen itself and start behaving like a world power.
The USA likes Russia now, not Ukraine.
Europe, You betrayed yourselves by riding our defense expenditures the past 40 years. Multiple presidents have asked Europe to contribute more! You did not.
As for usaid…the usa is not the world’s welfare… Europe continent has a bigger economy and can handle this. Oh, Europe also cut their aid …shame!
if I understand the info correctly, the US faces no threat economically or militarily from Russia (and hasn’t for 30+ years), and has not conflicting or even competing strategic interests with it, and the US it nowhere near the area in conflict and has no alliance or commitment to Ukraine whatsoever, do they? so they bascically owe Ukraine nothing at all, right? BUT despite all this, the USA has spent more than any other country on supporting it, around $140 billion +, correct? Those are all objectively true facts, no?
If not, what **exactly** do we demand is ‚owed‘ from the US beyond this, and on what possible basis? Is it their fault that Zelensky recognizes us as impotent and completely unable and unwilling to offer them any security guarantees? No one has to listen to Trump’s stupid plan or his inane speeches or moronic tweets if they don’t want to, we live in a wealthy economic bloc that’d had more than 5 generations to assert itself and there’s no reason Trump or the US should even be at the table, is there? This impacts the US and it’s citizens ZERO, right? They are broke and tired of BS wars, right? How is that a bad thing?
But it’s somehow the senile orange fascist idiot’s fault that this war is in its 5th year, right?
