      So, they’re swabbing the decks. I am concerned that they don’t keep the decks ship shape all the time, but good to hear that they’re being worked on now.

      Funny thing is, look at Trump’s actual statements and it seems like the guy is desperate to get something he can call an easy win/deal and not actually have to attack, to an actual like embarrassing degree, he’s a terrible negotiator and keeps making it awfully obvious he doesn’t actually want to attack.

      But the Iranians strike me as a bit too proud and rigid to even give him something that he could even vaguely spin as a win.

      So Trump just seems to keep accumulating military equipment thinking eventually it will scare them enough.

      The thing is, there’s no Venezuela option here, no dissent within the regime with practical crooks that can be easily scared into submission. Trump can certainly bomb the hell out of the Iranian armed forces, with an unknown level of retaliation from Iran, but then what?

      You can’t sacrifice your *only* carrier group to ensure public sentiment for a prolonged war in the region because without a carrier group there can’t be a prolonged war in the region. Smart of them to send another first.
