Eh? I only remember very positive reviews tbh. I thought it was widely succesful upon release with critics and audience

It definitely received mixed reviews when released. People complained about the science and the heavy handed sentimentality.

I mean I thought it was awesome but definitely remember a lot of bickering about the above issues

I don’t remember it being mixed I remember a lot of positive buzz about it

It’s also the last movie he co-created with his brother if I’m remembering right

As someone who works and study’s film, I can confidently say I have never been able to sit through this very bad movie.

    I enjoyed Interstellar a lot, it’s pretty well received. (8.7 IMDB / 74 Metascore)

Tenet is the one I really didn’t jive with and really disliked actually.

It’s still not good it’s just that the internet worshippers love Nolan more than their loved ones.

I re-watched it twice recently – I love it bc I understand more on each watch

  9. I’d like to think Stanley Cubes must to be smiling down. I feel like Mr. Nolan is always on the cutting edge of cinema & is one of those directors leading the charge. Pushing the movie going experience to that next level & encouraging/forcing the venues to innovate/follow suit. I’ll always be looking forward to what he does next.

    I only saw it streaming.

It is hard to do, but if you can watch movies without knowing anything ahead, it can be really amazing.

I was lucky and watched this without one lick of trailer, advertisement, or anyone telling me about it.

    Fully blown away by it.

  11. Favorite movie ever. Only gets better with time. Lost my dad since the last time I watched it, so I know it’ll be *real* bad next time because there’s only one line in movies that makes me cry, and it’s at the end of interstellar.

  12. I love Christoper Nolan, but this movie never landed for me and I do think the critics were spot on in their initial criticism. There were a few very cringey dialogue scenes in this one which made it hard for me to watch. I think Nolan is great at many things but anything related to love or sentimentality just falls flat unfortunately. I do love the soundtrack though.

  13. I didn’t like it very much when it came out, so I was surprised that I enjoyed it so much on a recent rewatch.

Main difference is that a lot of life-changing experiences had happened in between viewings and suddenly some things about the story hit much harder than before.

  14. It’s definitely a beautiful and moving movie with some very jarring plot oddities
