The reality in every photo is devastating, but the ones I find the darkest are the ones where they have lost their smile from before to after. It’s completely understandable given the realities of this shitty war, but saddening nonetheless. Slava Ukraini. Keep the faith.

  2. My total respect to them standing up and helping defend their homeland. They are heroes. Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦

  3. Reminds me to an often cited Text from the German War Film „Das Boot“.

„Don’t take photos of them leaving the harbor. Photograph the crew when they come home. Because they’ll have beards then.“

People always forget that soldiers, men and woman, no matter what country. Are just normal regular people, with families, pets, hobbies, just like anyone else. Most of them are only 18-22 yr old kids outta highschool. People love to think they’re different in ways. That they dont have any tyoe of freedom of self thoughts. These same people also refuse to do any research or simple ask someone who has served. These same people also love their freedom and doing what they want and free thinking. Only reason youre allowed to live that way IS BECAUSE of those who have volunteered to serve and protect.

Thats what heroes without capes look like. I mean, some of them *could be* wearing a cape

If you look into the eyes of the second photos, some of these guys have definitely seen some shit. All of them have but perhaps some more than others.
