Hardest region to memorize bc of the names

So I get why French Polynesia and American Samoa don’t have parentheses stating the country afterward.

But why don’t the Northern Mariana Island and Guam say (US)?

Pitcairn and the Cook Islands have that. I just hate inconsistency.
