Maybe if 80% of the AI crap being pushed on people wasn’t useless at best/ aggressively annoying at worst more would be using it?

My Japanese friend works at an AI company in Japan. They were forbidden to use any other AI, only the AI that her company developed (I think it’s just a GPT wrapper or PrivateGPT thing, but I’m not sure). It was a traditional Japanese environment, people don’t talk in the office at all, even work related. She is super lonely. She ended up talking to me and the AI all day. She even vented about her Japanese boss. One day an engineer told her that everything you chatted with AI was saved… She was terrified and called and asked me if that was true, and if that can be used as evidence against her. I said it’s logged in the company’s database, but normally I think no one would read them so it’s probably fine. She calmed down.

The key to driving adoption of AI in Japan would be to have an interface that resembles Microsoft Excel lol

Those count include those who are „dating“ AI.
