      Because it’s nearly always propaganda first and foremost. Yeah yeah, I know, there’s plenty of propaganda art from the other side too, but they tend to want to win oscars and other forms of adoration as their main motivation. Make good art with a message so everyone likes you. But the right seems to just push the message, with the art itself being of secondary concern.

      maga is about going backwards, art does not work like that. 30 percent ish of the people are maga, thats 70 percent ish not buying what maga is trying to sale. There is that also.

      Art comes from struggle, opression, longing, and the work of the dispirited and opressed is always bought up by the rich as a tax doge .

      Art looks at the truth. It celebrates the unique and different; examines the ugly and uncomfortable. Art pushes forward and breaks boundaries. It revels in creation and loss of control. Art wants you to feel, it wants you to think. Even when it looks back, the best art also looks forward.

      „MAGA art“ isn’t about beauty or truth or feeling or thinking — it’s about controlling a narrative. *It isn’t art, it’s propaganda.*

      Art is made from things like introspection, empathy, education, connection, creativity.

      It’s hard to adopt any of that when your entire platform is hating other people and regression.

      They’re almost all sociopaths so they don’t understand the nuance and emotional impact of the arts because they don’t really have emotional responses

      I always think of this everytime people bitch about ‘shows filled with liberal beliefs and morals and such and never go with anything conservative.’ Welllll maybeeeeee it’s because your beliefs and morals and attitudes and concept of art in general are all just fucking terrible?       Because they (see Torys in the UK for the same but differen, not “conservatives” but a specific type of conservative) don’t believe in/understand the quality of art/creativity outside of its ability to sell/match a need.

      If MAGA mentality had been here since the dawn of time, art and creativity would never have existed because there would have been no need for it.

      Remember that one time that guy wanted to be a painter and he got rejected from art school so he lived a life that inspired Donald Trump? I think this is pretty common for these types of people.

      Their work, artwork if you really wanna call it that, is regressive.

      It affirms stereotypes, it doesn’t push against the boundaries of human emotion, thought, or experience. It wants to bring those boundaries inward to cocoon themselves from the changing world. It throws away understanding and truth. Art can sometimes shed a light on this attitude but it looks much different. Its like what conservative comedy wants – they don’t want laughs. They want ‚clapter‘, the whole point is to cement their worldview with agreement.

      Creating art for the purpose of selfish gain or nefariously trying to influence others will never come out well. No one is creating the art because they genuinely do it for the love of the craft.
