I mean it makes sense. The Olympics are very very anti political. They have rules specifically against anything that could be interpreted as politics while on the field / during Olympic sanction activities. The purpose of the games is to show athletic prowess, not political influence.

Athletes are allowed to discuss in interviews / press conferences / on social media as they like but anything on the field / stage isn’t allowed.
