It’s deeply, deeply frustrating that the Japanese media largely ignored this in the lead-up to the election.

This should have been major news and Takaichi and senior LDP politicians should have been grilled about it repeatedly. If they refused to answer one reporter’s question about it, another reporter should have asked the question.
