    >Trump continued: „The first thing China will do is terminate ALL Ice Hockey being played in Canada, and permanently eliminate The Stanley Cup.“

I wonder if he actually believes this or if he thinks this is a genius line to get Canadians on his side.

  2. FYI Canada paid for all it. Canada even hired US labourers.

This was a net win for America.

  3. I wonder if we will have any relationship with Canada after pedophile protector leaves

The reason is plain as day. Billionaire Trump supporters own the bridge and want to keep their monopoly.

He’s going to use his body to stop the first semi crossing the bridge

Who gives a fuck what the dementia ridden pedophile says. Americans should never be forgiven for unleashing this hell on the world

So the angry wall guy doesn’t like a bridge, and doesn’t understand international trade and relations?

    Not exactly news.

China wants to eliminate the Stanley Cup? Forget the bingo card, I wouldn’t get this on mad libs, at my highest.

`It is not clear how Trump could block its opening but he said negotiations would begin immediately, without elaborating.`

You’d think there’d be a document w rules and processes, defining who has the power of the purse, et cetera

  9. The bridge is already built how would he block it? Maybe just not staff the border crossing?

Oh no. Someone soiled their diaper again and would rather us talk about anything other than the Epstein files implicating him for all of his crimes against children.

    “Nurse!”

  11. A quote from the bridge’s wikipedia page: „In a joint statement released after a meeting between newly elected U.S. president Donald Trump and Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau on February 13, 2017, the two governments reiterated the support of the ‚expeditious completion‘ of the project. It was listed as a priority infrastructure project by the Donald Trump administration.“

So the government of Canada paid 100% of the costs and the United States owns 50% of the bridge. On top he also costing Americans their jobs in the process.

  13. Oh no, we won’t be able to drive over to a shithole where fascist stormtroopers murder random people in the streets… anyway…

Honestly, what would be so bad if Canada just decided to wait a few years before we open the bridge, so Trump has no say in it? Just wait him out on this one.

For those who don’t know, the Ambassador bridge between Detroit and Windsor Ontario is owned by a single family who have been fighting against the new bridge for years. They own a trucking company and the main international trade crossing in Detroit. When the Gordie Howe bridge opens it breaks their total monopoly on international freight between Detroit and Windsor forever.

The Ambassador bridge owers have buying up properties on the Canada side and then letting the area rot, pissing of Canadians for decades. There is a health and safety problem, too. Every week thousands of trucks pass through miles of residential on their way to the 401 expressway. The new bridge located and designed to flow directly into the 401 away from high population density areas.

This reeks of a kickback paid to Trump by the International Bridge Company owners as a last ditch effort to keep their bridge monopoly from slipping away for good.

    Canada’s response? Okay.

And US will find itself becoming poorer as Canada start cutting more ties that enriched US industries.
