    That is basically the East Germany minus Saxony, all of the money and jobs are in the west, so yeah…

    And NYC is more populated than a good chunk of US states. You can probably say the same about any other country with a big city

    I feel like that’s a pretty irrelevant metric tbh. Doesn’t NYC have a larger population than like 30 US states?

  6. In Finland, the city of Helsinki is more populated than every region apart from the Uusimaa region where it’s located.

  7. i mean Hamburg and Bremen shouldn’t really count as they are city states rather than large regions, even Saarland is around the same size as Luxembourg.

    It do be like that. NYC has a population greater than almost 40 of the 50 US states.
