I think it’s refreshing whenever an MP breaks with their party on policy. Partisans will see this as betrayal. I think healthy disagreement with your party should be normalized.
Bruce Fanjoy defeated Pierre Poilievre in his own riding, home to many public servants. Fanjoy is simply listening to the very people that elected him.

So far only a singular MP has called for this „reconsideration“. Completely inconsequential.
Mark Carney’s biggest priority is the economy. This is very obvious to those who pay any attention to his words and actions.
Mandating employees to come to the office will mean they will pay for things like parking and gas. They will eat lunches at downtown restaurants and get their work-clothes dry-cleaned. These activities are all beneficial for the economy.
Furthermore, many public service employees tend to slack off when „working“ from home. So making them come into the office is a way to prevent this, and also boost overall productivity and collaboration.

I mean, sure, if we had a sense that the public service was actually productive. Tell that to those waiting for paperwork to be processed.

To all those whiners saying that Fanjoy shouldn’t bother with the petition and instead focus on RTO, look! He can do both!
Already a more effective MP than PP.

Considering how absent some Cabinet members are with their own ministries I wouldnt be surprised if the majority of them have no idea what the public service actually does and are in agreement with a lot of the cuts.
