      They got everything they thought they wanted, and their life is getting worse. A lot of them are going to go back to being totally checked out of politics. They’ll never admit they were wrong, but they’ll just go back to being „apolitical“ until they can be whipped into hating the next boogieman.

      In the Epstein files, there’s an interview where Bannon asks Epstein “Do you think you’re the devil himself? It’s a serious question.”

      It says way more about Bannon than Epstein. He knows he’s a pedophile and a rapist and vicious capitalist and probably a double agent of sorts – *and he’s cool with it.* He finds this man interesting and useful. He wants proximity to that kind of power no matter what package it comes in.

      Epstein seems to have wanted money and little kids and to blackmail people. Bannon seems to want *power*, plain and simple. That’s possibly even scarier.

      Looks to me like some in MAGA have finally had enough. Breaking points and red lines have been reached. They are exhausted trying to find ways to defend a black heart. There is three years left so who knows what depths of hell Trump has in mind as he slips away.

      MAGA people can’t deny it, when Trump’s policies hurt them personally. The challenge is, are they going to continue to be bamboozled by the MAGA elites call for the culture war and continue voting MAGA, even though the only thing it helps is for the mega-wealthy to continue rigging the system further and further in their favor while common folk fight for scraps.

      Well. He’s done nothing to make their lives better. Food prices have continued to climb. Nothing has gotten more affordable. Some of them have watched as members of their community have been torn from their homes. They’re losing workers. Jobs numbers have been bad. Healthcare costs are good up. The K-shapes economy continues to diverge. The military has continued to drop bombs across the world. They’ve fought tooth and nail to keep to Epstein docs hidden. They’re running blatant scams out in the open enriching themselves at the cost of Americans.

      What is there to be enthusiastic about? Kid Rock halftime shows? Trashy music with a side if racism can only go so far.

      All of these news reports about the coming blue tsunami and MAGA backlash at the midterms have left me ruminating on what a blessing it is to be a conservative or non-voter. To sleepwalk through life ignoring all warnings, and neglecting, vandalizing, and destroying whatever you want, and always get away with it because the other side never stops believing in forgiveness, pragmatism, and coalition-building.

      There is no class short of the billionaires in American society more coddled and swaddled than they are, yet they still base their entire political identity on being dissatisfied and persecuted. What a bewildering people.
