„Nipah is an infection that spreads mainly through products contaminated by infected bats, such as fruit. It can be fatal in up to 75% of cases, but it does not spread easily between people.“

I am not going to worry about another covid unless this spread to more than a handful of people. Not every deadly virus is going to decimate human society.

It’s fruiting season for certain trees and it will happen now (Fruit bats are out in force in the evening now. I see fruit droppings everywhere). Will happen again during peak summer during Mango season. This a non-story turned into a big story. Unless there is some noted mutation in the virus that makes it airborne, this is just fear mongering.

Oh shit. If Nipah keeps spreading it’s going to cause a shit storm unlikely we’ve ever seen before. Nipah is so much more deadlier than Covid. If it reaches the west there’s no telling how bad it will get. At least other countries (specially the countries that are being affected) are taking measures to prevent spreading. But if it ever reaches the US it will spread like wild fire and based how the US handled Covid this would be catastrophic. I hope it doesn’t get to that point.
