      Mamdani’s handling of the snowstorm was excellent. By Sunday evening, every road was plowed at least twice, and bike lanes were cleared for food deliveries. Public communication was excellent, and remote school went forward on Monday without issues.

      The far right is just butthurt that the snowstorm didn’t tank his mayorality like it did with Bloomberg and DeBlasio.

      It snowed 2 inches in Texas and took down their power grid. People were being charged thousands for their power bill and I believe several people died while Ted Cruz went on vacation in Mexico.

      There is not a single republican politician who can compete with Mamdani.

      The actual conditions during the storm in 2021 were:

      5-8 inches of snow across the state and 7-10ish days of single digit or sub zero temperatures, conditions unseen in almost 100 years.

      The cost of electricity increased by 10k% in some places.

      And from what I’m seeing the death toll was actually the several hundreds in TX.

      Nobody’s snow has melted the temperatures to Low. The East coast still has 20 foot piles of plowed snow now it’s a block of ICE..

      I’ve heard people of all political persuasions complain about the snow and idk what they expect. There’s a lot of snow, it exists in real physical space, it’s uniformly distributed around the city, and temperatures have been well below freezing. It’s currently managed as well as it possibly could be, the side walks are just a little bit narrower. Idk what sort of magic people expect.

      I’ve lived in NYC for ~30 years with some breaks working out of state. I’ve never seen ice cleanup crews. Trucks sure, but this was the first time i saw crews for explicitly cleaning up the snow/ice on the curb. It was the biggest snow in 10 years and the weather stayed below zero so it didnt melt. But, you know, that fucking commie terrorist mayor and his weather control…
