How did classes work for you in the 2000s?

In the 90s we had jr infants, senior infants, first class then second class

I always assumed that by the time I had kids our absurd reliance on religious orders to provide education would be an archaic memory.

I was very wrong about that. Within ten kilometres of me there are about twenty Catholic schools and one Protestant one. Freedom of choice…

Bun go barr, mathematics, Alive o songs. Sugradh and the other chirstmas workbooks. Being allowed to watch polar express before the Christmas break and working hard for the nativity. Buying sweets at the sweet counter at centre for 50 cents. I didn’t go to a rural primary school but relate to a lot of these images. I’ve fond memories of primary school.

Anyone remember using the ‚ToyBox‘ program in the computer room, or whatever it was called. Had tons of minigames, ones I remember where you cut up pizza and ’score‘ in a football-themed one by solving math sums.

We used to always accidentally kick the ball over the wall into the farm behind the school and youd have to jump over super quick and grab the ball before the cows got to you

Anyone else’s school not have a proper built in bell on a timer to ring for lunch time so they’d send some lad out to walk around the yard at about half twelve swinging an actual bell side to side to tell everyone’s it’s lunch time
