Sulfuric acid is used in RO systems to clean the membranes and to prevent scale build up in the RO system. The reason it says RO is Reverse Osmosis, its for a seawater to drinking water treatment system.
Id be very interested to find out where he got that RO system, and the membranes in use cause theres a specific country that excels in their production.
It was for a water plant. The do use sulfuric acid in industrial water plants. 6 55 gallon drums for any industrial sized water plant isn’t a crazy amount.

It says it’s for the RO(reverse osmosis) plant. Saltwater is basic- lots of calcium carbonate.
While acid isn’t used directly in the RO process, strong acids are absolutely used in cleaning hard water(salt water) off of the equipment used in water treatment facilities.
Very well could be a practical use to order that much at a time. The delivery fee is probably a set amount since you’re sending it to an island.

You’d need sulfuric acid and hydrogen peroxide to dissolve bodies – see piranha acid. Hydrofluoric acid would break down bones. Sulphuric acid on its own won’t cut it.
