      It really shows how out of touch he is. I think he was genuinely surprised. Good for Vance that Trump reflexively defended him, but that won’t last if Trump, who sees other people as extensions of himself, realizes Vance is unpopular.

      Trump has surrounded himself with people who tell him that both the USA and him personally are beloved across the world. Anyone who even hints otherwise finds themself out of a job.

      So of course he’s surprised. That’s his warped perception of reality at play.

      Trump doesn’t give a crap whether Vance gets booed or not. Probably can’t stand the slimy couch humper anymore than the rest of us. His only concern would be whether or not the boos were a bad sign for himself. Which they obviously are.
