As long as they pay enough, and there is no rule against it, it will probably stay. And it will get worse.
I believe that was the plan, but some people are against as it is now considered part of how the square has always looked like…

Sad boring nagger asking to remove the last bit of fun out of the city. I prefer the vibrant 70s Brouckere over the present urban desert.

That square always looks so damn empty too. I wonder to what extent the current layout was chosen for lack of funds, to what extent it’s the result of corruption and to what extent it was chosen to make the place easy to monitor and to discourage drug dealing.
