Medical physics here. We already knew this. We already know how radiation causes cancer and why radio waves don’t do that.
I wonder what the mice were talking about on their mobile phones
I can finally rest easy knowing that my phone isn’t cooking my brain while I listen to podcasts at night.
Anyone who can recall their high school physics will know this. It’s an indictment on public education that this is even being discussed.
Radio frequencies, even „5G“ (5GHz) and over, is safe. How, you may ask, can I know this?
All radiation sits along the electromagnetic spectrum. Radio is down at the low energy end. Below visible light, below infrared.
Does visible light cause cancer? No it doesn’t. How many GHz is visible light? You may be surprised to hear that visible light goes from about 400-790 terahertz.
„Terahertz“?! But that sounds scarier than gigahertz, it even has the word „terror“ in it!
So yeah, 5G won’t give you cancer, nor will 500G. That’s not just „what some scientist says“, it’s simply numbers. You need higher energies – above visible light, like UV for starters, to cause serious DNA damage.
Ed: That said, your body deals with DNA damage every day, there’s are about 3 × 10¹³ cells, and you can help them more by say limiting alcohol – which absolutely does cause cancer – rather than worrying about radio waves with energies that hardly exist compared to the visible spectrum energies blasting our retinas all day.
Hormesis is triggered by small amounts of radiation. But we do not know what kind of radiation studies may have been done that we aren’t told about because of being private research. So we don’t know if this isn’t just a control method to make people biologically addicted to phones intergenerationally.
Was the 90’s brick phone tested? Had to carry one of those for a year or so…..
The hysteria of some surrounding those phones when they came out was pretty fascinating.
I thought everything caused cancer in mice?
