The most I’ve ever made in my life is almost exactly the average for Estonia, apparently. Never been there, but high five to you guys.

    2. Gross salary doesn’t tell much given how high taxes are in the highest salary countries, especially on the lower end of the income range. A map going by net salary would be much more accurate.

In some way you can learn a lot about the history and the economics of the countries

Luxemburg and Denmark are like that meme where Winnie the Pooh has crown

    5. Yeah, now put Musk & Bezos in one of those countries and the average salary will triple.

      Avergae doens’t say fuck all.

    6. Now add also average monthly expenses. Then you can also see why in some countries it’s high…

Average means you can’t see the average if the top 1% in your country earns millions

    8. Several things are bad here. Average instead of median, gross instead of net, not controlling for purchasing power or currency exchange rates to the Euro.

35 years ago people says that East Will catch up West, looks like they mean Portugal.

Norway has stagnated somewhat because of the weak krone, but when comparing Denmark v Norway it might be useful to know that in Norway your employer pays a sizeable tax on your income and that the income tax on the employee is lower than for employees in Denmark.

It would therefore be more meaningful to compare net against net in Denmark and Norway, given that they have similar services and social security offered for their tax.
