An independent cinema in Oregon has claimed Amazon pulled screenings of their documentary about [Melania Trump](https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/melania-trump) in protest at the cinema’s marketing strategy.
As reported by local newspaper [the Lake Oswego Review](https://lakeoswegoreview.com/2026/02/02/lake-oswego-theater-cancels-melania-screenings-after-marquee-jokes/), the general manager of the Lake Theater & Cafe has claimed the corporation cancelled future screenings of Brett Ratner’s authorised study of the first lady after being alerted to promotional pushes such as: “To defeat your enemy. You must know them. Melania” and “Does Melania wear Prada? Find out on Friday!”
Writing on the cinema’s [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/p/DUQFBj-ld1m/?hl=en&img_index=1), Jordan Perry said: “Got a call that the higher ups (ie, at Amazon) were upset with how our marquee marketed their movie (ie, Melania), that, per them, Sunday would be its last day here.”
Perry added that he hoped Amazon wouldn’t cancel his Prime membership and directed devoted Amazon fans to “show your support at Whole Foods instead”. The cinema owner also addressed those who had criticised his decision to show the film in the first place.

Why would people take this movie seriously when the real reason for this is for Bezos to bribe Trump family.
That bribe money would have saved a lot of hard working Washington Post employees.
Why is ‘fake ticket sales’ in quotes? If they are rumours this is redundant. Also, I think we all know no one is watching this movie.

Everyone needs to go watch “The Producers” with Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder. First it’s a great movie. Second, this is literally the plot of it. Make a bad production, embezzle money, keep the investment and write off the loss. Except you know the movie is fiction because they go to jail.
