      I am 58. I had to let my health insurance go. After I let it go so that I could pay rent, I was laid off. Why are my tax dollars always helping someone else out and not me?

      If you believe your job is to fight for aid to Israel when they are committing genocide in Gaza you have the wrong job in the wrong country, quit your day job move to Israel and get a job in Netanyahu’s cabinet. No more aid to a country that’s attacking civilians with the goal of eradicating them. Smucker needs to go he runs his mouth about standing up to trump then when it counts he caves and does what trump wants. Resign or grow a pair

      EDIT: Probably should clarify, I have never voted for Trump. But when even some Dems make it sound like Americans rank under Israel in terms of importance…..

      Instead of raging about him saying this, just believe him and talk about how he got employed in this job. We have to get money out of politics so that Congress isn’t getting jobs from lobbying groups and foreign governments.

      The problem is that our tax dollars are going to a right wing government engaged in a genocide, and which is not allowing people driven from their homes to return.

      I’m all for continuing aid to the country predicated on us supporting a government that isn’t using fear and cruelty to hang onto power. But we have to remove folks like Schumer, who refuses to acknowledge that there is a distinction between an Israel that operates ethically, or one that that operates as a murderous regime.

      Israel has too much power in our politics. If any other country has this level of influence, we would do something about it.
