      I know Ryanair have done this for years but I wonder if the aer Lingus change is related to asylum seekers coming over from the UK?

    2. They need to make sure you’re not refused at the other end. On another note I don’t know anyone who travels to the UK without a passport anyway. If you had one why not take it?

    3. Makes sense from a staff training pov. Just eaiser to have a blanket passport required for all travel outside the country.

      IIRC, the CTA, gives rights to citizens, not residents

      But residents can get Irish photo ID. So, how do you train staff to spot a resident
