Russian spacecraft have intercepted the communications of at least a dozen key satellites over Europe, security officials said.
Such interceptions not only risk compromising sensitive information transmitted by the satellites, but could allow Moscow to manipulate their trajectories or crash them, officials told the Financial Times.
Russian spacecraft have increasingly trailed European satellites in recent years amid heightened tensions over the war in Ukraine, illustrating how space is becoming a new frontier in warfare.
Both military and civilian space authorities have been tracking the activities of Russia’s Luch-1 and Luch-2, which have been seen carrying out suspicious manoeuvres in space.
Security officials believe both spacecraft have made risky approaches to some of Europe’s most important satellites, which service the continent, including the UK, as well parts of Africa and the Middle East.
Why Europe isn’t more foreword thinking about security on all levels, particularly against Putin boggles the mind.

It’s unencrypted communication, that’s the problem, besides the potential kinetic risk.
Seems to me that we need new, upgraded satellites in the coming years.
A rather grim prediction is that after a third world war, our entire sky will be impenetrable for future satellites and rockets because of accumulation of space debris causing Kessler syndrome, locking us in on this planet for the rest of our history.

So maybe stop the amateur shit and start encrypting everything by default?
Wow, their shadow fleet tankes anchor chains are longer than i expected.

Wasn’t this the premise of an old James Bond movie ?
Anyways, the serious question is – where’s the line ? When the actions of Russia will be considered acts of war instead of „hybrid war“ or whatever euphemism is used at the moment ?

So they’re back in the FA stage it seems.
Anyone can intercept radio communication
Time to bring Trumps Space Force into the case

It would be great if those satellites [had some sort of security](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fM5w7bFNvWI) in the first place
