But like several months ago, the Pashinyan team was advocating for a Russian and Iranian participation in TRIPP (like now the pro-Russian opposition is doing, before elections), what has changed in the mean time, that the government changed its rhetoric on that issue?

Seems like Simonyan’s take is absurd. There must have been a more diplomatic manner in responding.
So in what fantasy world is a military option ruled out? I wonder if Simonyan passed a Russian military base within Armenia as he was headed into making such a statement.
Don’t forget Allen celebrating the battle incident before the 2020 Artsakh war. Right there Turkey got involved and everything changed.

I hope this rejection is a move to get a concession from Russia, though i am skeptical. It would be nice to get something in return from Russia.
On the other hand, Russia has a history of sabotaging things to force us to do something. I wouldn’t be surprised if they decide to blockade it, or install information sweepers inside. Honestly, they made their own bed. I think it’s less likely US would do such a thing but i don’t rule it out.
Maybe the US rejected it and we had to announce it?
