I wonder how many Russian bots are stirring the Alberta Separatist movement?

So we know Russia has been conducting information operations against us and state sponsored cyber attacks. When do we take the gloves off? Providing more funding and advising on strategic targets. Have Ukraine destroy their potash mines.

Canada needs to regulate social media.
As long as Russian bot farms can target Canadians and influence opinions to match their agendas without impunity, Canada is screwed.

State-sponsored online trolls arenât always obvious, but they tend to leave patterns. The key is to look less at what one post says and more at how accounts behave over time and in groups. Here are the main signs analysts and platforms look for:
1. Coordinated behavior (the biggest tell)
Many accounts push the same talking points, hashtags, or links within minutes or hours.
Replies appear in waves, often amplifying one another.
They swarm critics in a very synchronized way.
Real users argue chaotically; troll operations move in formation.
2. Repetitive, scripted language
Posts reuse identical phrases, slogans, or oddly similar sentence structures.
Arguments feel formulaic, like theyâre following a playbook.
Emotional tone is consistent: outrage, ridicule, or false âconcern.â
3. High volume, unnatural activity
Posting at all hours, every day, with no clear sleep cycle.
Extremely high output across multiple platforms.
Instant engagement with certain narratives, even obscure ones.
4. Shallow or fake personal identity
Profiles lack real personal detail or have:
Stock photos or AI-generated faces
Vague bios
Recently created accounts
âLivesâ that never evolve: no real friendships, history, or personal growth.
5. Narrative focus over conversation
They donât debate to understandâonly to redirect.
When challenged with evidence, they:
Change the subject
Attack the source
Repeat the same claim again
Goal is confusion, cynicism, or divisionânot persuasion.
6. Extreme framing and false binaries
Everything is âus vs them.â
Moderate positions are mocked or ignored.
They push distrust: âEveryone lies,â âNothing is real,â âYou canât trust anyone.â
This is deliberateâundermining trust is often more important than convincing you of a specific belief.
Facebook: Fake community pages, local-sounding groups
Reddit: Accounts that only post in political threads, often reviving old topics
YouTube/TikTok: Comment brigades repeating short slogans
8. Links to questionable ecosystems
Heavy reliance on obscure ânewsâ sites that cross-link each other.
Sources appear independent but share the same hosting, writing style, or narratives.
What doesnât automatically mean âstate trollâ
Someone having a bad opinion
Strong ideology
Poor English
Being rude or emotional
Plenty of real people check those boxes.
How individuals can protect themselves:
Slow down before reacting emotionally (thatâs what trolls want).
Check whether multiple accounts are saying the same thing.
Look at account history, not just the post.
Donât engage with obvious coordinationâstarve it of attention.
Report patterns, not single comments

Not at all surprising.
At a time like this, it sure would be comforting if all our party leaders agreed to obtain Level III security clearance…

I was hoping for some sort of substantiation. This honestly sounds like her opinion. There is literally not even mention of an investigation or anything….

I hope whoever collects this information actually uses a rigid methodology. Otherwise, everyone these days is a âbotâ (Russian, Ukrainian, Chinese, etc.) as soon as you ask inconvenient questions or challenge the dogma.

Just go and talk to the dumbest person you personally know and listen to them run propaganda for MAGA/MAPLES/RUSKIES. They literally watch Russian propaganda <Tucker Carlson> as their main source of information. Of course russia has been successful. Been the case for over a decade.
What are we doing about it? Are we gonna keep letting compromised money from Russia AND the US tell us what to think? I personally think all foreign owned media should be expelled, start with Conservative media, it’s a cesspool
