Why’d you choose those two?
I’ve heard awful stories about the forced labour in UAE. This shows that the HDI is quite flawed. Not saying it’s useless, but other metrics need to be taken into account as well.
USAs real HDI is like 0.870 at best. Theres no way this is accurate, and if it is HDI is very flawed. USA is a very poor country in many ways. Even India does better
Only Austria is missing and then there would be every germanic country.
Why US and New Zealand?
What about Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Israel?
I don’t like the index as a metric as it uses an absolute dollar value for income in the metric, life expectancy and education make sense but some countries your money just goes further and buys you a better situation..
Says it all really….
People don’t expect it but the thing that pushes NZ down relatively is actually income, NZ for the purposes of income and the labour market is basically an outer regional area of Australia
Almost all avenues of high income in NZ could basically be summarised as “go to Australia”
It’s why Australia always outranks it despite them having near identical QOL, life expectancy and average education
Gosh, has our HDI fallen so much as to be equal to the US? That’s quite embarassing. We really need to give neoliberalism/right wing politics the boot.
This again?
nancy mace’s butt
The map adds no value here. The list is just fine.
NZ on the map whoohoo
The US is .9800 in the real world
Why is New Zealand on this map? Shouldn’t be!
