      Going from that to being on her own I feel like is its own kind of freedom

      An unusual preference but no one should judge this.

      An elderly couple in my neighborhood literally live across the street from each other and have stayed happily married for decades. It’s important to find a partner that matches your needs for alone time vs shared time. I would never want to live apart from my partner but from early on we established that we both need plenty of alone time. But some people want to sit next to each other all day every day. 🤷‍♂️

      I don’t think I could live with someone again. I love my alone time and *hate* my mood being impacted by other people’s issues. I remember when I moved out of my parents‘ house, the best part was not having to deal with whatever mood they brought home.
