Das Video argumentiert, dass es bei dem Drang, nach außen zu expandieren, nicht wirklich um Ressourcen oder Überleben geht – es geht um etwas Tieferes, das in das Bewusstsein selbst eingebaut ist. I don’t think any civ will ever get to type 2 much less above. I think the hurdles are actuality insurmountable, and we are way too naive in expecting linear progress is infinite. Something something laws of physics
The idea of living near a star or on planets doesn’t make sense once you master spaceflight to a certain degree. At that stage it’s a lot easier to build a habitat with perfect conditions than try to fight unfavorable conditions on some other planet (particularly conditions which you cannot easily change like the level of gravity)….or just change *yourself* to a point where ‚environment‘ isn’t really a concern for you anymore. At that stage even the idea of ‚building stuff‘ becomes largely moot.
Particularly once lifetimes start to extend I’d expect such civs to try and stay away from sources of danger (i.e. stars). I would expect a functionally immortal species – read: one that can only be ‚killed‘ via accident or violence – to move off into interstellar or even intergalactic space and have all their interactions with others done via proxy.
I’m always disappointed and turned off when I start reading and see ChatGPT voice.

Well because at type 2, resources are so abundant that putting together a seed ship to send DNA samples to be incubated on other worlds is such a small investment that you may as well just do it
