      To be honest, she hasn’t had a great track record lately with regards to speaking off the cuff.
      I can see why her advisors would tell her to skip the debate.

      Frankly, if I were a member of parliament, I’d be having a sit-down with leadership. This whole situation is not good for Japan’s international image.

      Meanwhile, the echo chamber on Japanese twitter is criticizing the „ethics“ of complaining about her injury – as if there isn’t a far bigger ethical problem that she’s trying to run away from…

    5. I mean this debate on public broadcast is a pretty big deal, and not showing up before the election isn’t going to be a good look.
