I do not imagine the russians go to such trouble to document and try to identify even their own soldiers. I feel bad for the guys that risk their lives to pull this duty. At first I did not realize it was pieces of skull and bone he was gathering up. It made me wish once more that the russians would just stop this shit and go live out their depressing lives in Mordor. These Ukrainians do not deserve to have to deal with piecing together their miserable carcasses.

Did he get blown up that way or did an animal eat him? Or maybe both ?
A lot of this damage isn’t from the injury which killed them, it’s from scavenging. The almost completely clean spine came from animals picking over the remains not from any battlefield injury.
