Convenient. How about America figures it’s shit out and leaves us alone. In all regards.

      Ontariosota.

If they want to join than our province comes first in the name.

Ontario shares a longer border than Manitoba so they don’t get annexation dibs.

Thank you were flattered, but no f****** chance Id stand by and allow a US state to join Canada. Minnesota would be the third largest province and even if there similar there not Canadian.

Immigrate. We don’t need the 46% Trump supporters that the state comes with.

    5. Astrowelkyn on

Apply to immigrate, line up politely at the border, and leave your guns behind.

    6. No, we already have enough trouble with immigration. The absolute dead last thing this country needs right now is more people.

    7. Almost half the population of that state voted for Trump. So almost half the state embraces facism.

Paaaaaaaasssss. Figure your own sh*t out first.

We need to remember that the Democratic Party in the USA is much more conservative than our far right People’s Party. These people could never adhere to Canadian values.

    9. CanadianLabourParty on

Trade the Minnesotans that want to leave USA for the Albertans that want to leave Canada. Everyone wins.

they might be nice people, but I don’t want any more American influence on Canada. Can they just figure their own shit out

Bernie sanders is about the center of Canadian politics, take a long hard look at your values and see where you sit then come back and we can talk.

And then we get the Mall of America… let’s not rename it! Mwahahaha

Why would we want to take cancer from a cancer and integrate it here?

Sorry Minnesota. 4.29M eligible voters and 3.1ish million showed up. Convince some of the almost a third of the complacent folk and you won’t even need our help.

    14. CrankyFranky69 on

No. Can America please just leave us and our border and our autonomy alone and go figure their own stuff out

      Dear Minnesota

Re: Application for [11th Province/2nd Territory] Position

We would like to thank you for applying to [11th Province/2nd Territory] position at Canada.

We have throughly reviewed your application and wish to inform you that you do not meet certain requirements for the role.

We will keep your resume on file and should another position come up, we encourage you to apply again.

Thank you for your interest in joining Canada.

      Sincerely,

      All Canadians

    17. Can we stop entertaining these things? It’d be annexation by a different avenue, we have a small population and different beliefs.

    18. What a gross idea for Canada. Americans assume everyone wants them.

A gun-toting white guy gets shot by ICE, and he becomes a national hero.

You live by the sword, ya die by the sword. Too bad. So sad.

    19. If I were an American and this was something I wanted, I would think about it throughly. Canada and the United States are quite different. The things that make a person American like the political system, the constitution and its amendments that define the rights and laws especially the 2nd amendment to start with. All of that would disappear (gone) if in some crazy world where this could even happen. You would no longer have the political system you are used to so no republican or democrats, your governor if they stayed in power would become a Premier and you would be enrolled into a completely different health care system. If you worked in that system especially if you were part of the insurance side of things would likely lose your employment as that system would disappear. The right to own a gun and how it is carried would change and likely you would dislike the serious way such rights are approved with strong rules and regulations. So much would change which would be very agreeable and disagreeable in nature. Then there is the possible fallout from America itself over your state’s move to become a Province. It would be no small thing. Let us not even discuss the issues Canada would have to deal with such a move and the huge efforts it would take to take on a US state and fold it into the country as a new Province.

    20. Yeah, I’m Minnesotan, and this is just a joke. No one I’m aware of is serious about it. Minnesota was the first to fight for the Union; it will take a lot to be the first to break it. With that said, we do have a lot of love for our friends up north, and I, personally, love visiting Manitoba. We even have a town called [Little Canada](https://www.littlecanadamn.org/)!

Can lefty Minnesotans just swap houses with maple MAGA Albertans?

Seriously though, no. Figure your stuff out. Even your lefties align with our righties (except aforementioned maple MAGAs). Leave us alone.

    22. We, in Canada, can welcome Minnesota and all the east and west coast states and others who want to fight for fairness, justice and freedom a la Canadian. We strongly invite the West Coast.

    23. PrinceDaddy10 on

I wouldn’t mind genuinely, but for Americas sake, and ours, it would be better for us if they stayed. If they broke apart, the entire balance of the USA would crumble. Right wing would have complete victory for decades in elections, and god knows what kind of Pandora’s box 1 state being allowed to leave would open. Thirdly, while Minnesota is a blue state, they still have millions of republicans and Magas. We don’t need that here.

    24. Sorry, what’s the notion here? Are they under the impression that in order to be a Canadian province their name has to end in -toba or something (because, presumably, Manitoba?). Not criticizing or supporting the idea of wanting to be part of Canada. Whatever with that, but the idea would’ve been sufficiently conveyed with a banner with their name with maple leaf as the background, but what’s with the play on their name?

Are they saying say want to join/merge with Manitoba, not Canada?

Next, will they think that, to be Canadian, they have to say eh? at the end of every sentence?

We’ll take the lakes and forests. People will be considered one by one.
