I’m going to Coney Island, but I’m not getting off the freeway!

*Travels away from Earth.
The moon is 238,855 miles from Earth. The ISS travels 411,000 miles PER DAY. Space can kill you in orbit around Earth just as easily as a voyage around the moon.

Apollo 11 circa 2026: „yeah they’re technically on the moon, whoop, but ther just walking around like idiots then back home. at least craft a moonbase. wth the point?“

People are just genuinely very bad at understanding distances in space.

It seems like a lot of people are interested in having pedantic grammatical arguments about the use of the word „to“ that are simply not correct.
„to“ Is entirely correcting its usage. You can go to the Grand canyon without jumping in. You can go to the super bowl without getting on the field

It’s amazing for people like us, but Apollo 10 had a much better view being closer.

*The distance it will hopefully travel.*

I’m pretty sure there have been a few uncrewed missions that traveled much farther away than Artemis II will.

Distance big yes, but the delta-v difference is not so big and there’s a good argument that matters more.
In fact, I would say the ISS is a far greater achievement than the Apollo program and it gets underappreciated because it’s „only“ in LEO.
