Meanwhile the same government has decided to give up on climate targets and simply pay the massive EU fines instead…
So the minister responsible for Met Eireann is holding Met Eireann responsible. So does that mean ultimately he is responsible 🤔
All this talk of flood defenses, a lot of folks(including the government) seem to think it will fix everything, whereas all it does in many cases is just move the flooding elsewhere…
In Annacotty Limerick a few years back they cleared a mountain of trees along the bank, and it just increased flooding… who would have thought it, trees that take up water and have extensive root systems holding the bank together all while taking water up…
There is zero joined up thinking in this country
