Does anyone else kind of think the long distance trains are just… not a good use of resources? I think shutting those down and putting all the money into the NEC and other regional lines like the Surfliner, Cascades or the intercity Midwest routes would be good.
Or opening new smaller routes.

I enjoy this fully connects the Ohio cities. Most plans have 1 or occasionally 2 of the 3 missing connections between major cities in the area.

I still think these plans miss out by not having a connection from Memphis to Little Rock. There’s just to great a distance between St Louis (the nearest northern Mississippi River crossing and Vicksburg (the crossing point west of Jackson) for it not to at least be somewhat considered.
