Am I missing something? All of these proposals seem very conventional and the way I would have assumed things were already done. I mean, ankle bracelets for people on probation is hardly unheard of.

This seems like a such a normal, natural obvious policy, it’s is remarkable that no other European country even comes close. The UK certainly doesn’t, both our main parties will gladly expose our own people to any amount of danger rather than punish any criminal.
1 year? any jail time should be sufficient grounds for deportation. you are a guest until you are a citizen, you should be on your best behaviour.

Is this a mistranslation? I don’t think they mean literally citizens in the literal sense but legal inhabitants or visa holders. It would be dystopic if citizens could get deported
