Russia tried to auction the airport, minimum bid $1.7 billion, but no one bid, so they sold it at a second auction for half that price. The government seized the airport last year – why would anyone pay for it? The article is behind a paywall. You don’t need to read it to wonder why anyone would pay for it.

I think I’d rather be the proud owner of chlamydia than an airport in Russia.

If this is sign of global isolaion why would one airport buy yourself a second one? Where would the first airport get the money to pay for it, if Russia is in total isolation.

    >half-off price is about what the airport fetched in the end, offered by another Moscow airport, the Kremlin-linked Sheremetyevo.

Just a quick special airport laundering operation
