I’m not convinced that a circle is the best way to visualize time, given the notable linearity of it.

Great job on the visual, especially for mobile!
Does „unique artist“ include songwriters, producers, and such?
It’s not surprising to see the gender breakdown the way it is in the visual; the music industry is very male dominated.

It’s not surprising since most grammys are devoted to albums and records which are created by geeky producers and audio engineer guys. Dudes just like to tinker, whether it be with cars or pro tools. On the plus side, the billboard hot 100 is pretty balanced between guys and girls nowadays.

a bar chart would be better…

This is amazing.
I immediately wished we could filter it by category to see if Styles was more accurate just when it came to AotY 😂

It’s cool, but doesn’t seem really useful to actually read/compare

I would like to see the correlation between how much money a company spends on the Grammys and related organizations and awards given to the people they represent.
Like what really is the difference between having industry support and not. Do small labels ever win anything?

Not a great visual for this data. Also it looks like a butthole
I was thinking that „group“ was a specific gender identity for a minute until I realized that this was for the Grammys and actually understood what it meant

Ok but what’s the demographic split of musicians? I feel like there’s a lot more male than female. An „all girl band“ is a notable thing. An all guy band? Nope. It might be that women are actually over-repesented in nominations compared to the industry.
Oh also harry styles wasnt saying men don’t get nominated, that’s the interpretation of someone (or an ai) oblivious to context.

idk if it’s just me, but as a colorblind guy, I can’t for the life of me see the border of the group and male bars

It’s a beautiful design, no doubt.
But I would feel better about myself if I had understood where the beginning and end were just by looking at the image, without reading anything beyond the title.

The universe is a donut. Well played.

I’d be curious what it looks like if you just include the televised awards, and/or just the performance-related awards.
Nominations accurately representing a male-dominated industry would skew numbers when lumped in to potential misrepresentations in performance nominations.
