One of my favorite posters I used to have growing up. Great thematic map.

I love it when the united states is just CONUS plus Canada while actual core regions of the US are left off the map, like Hawaii and Alaska.

    3. Its funny how even canada has some landmarks while northern mexico is a barren wasteland

The terrain is cool but i think the map would be cooler if you based the number of iconic buildings on the size of the city metro area. So you get a feel of city size.

Shrink the buildings a bit but add more of them but then also keep the building sizes in relation to eachother the same across the board.

for example las vegas buildings look tiny.

Also it’s funny seeing some cities that grew a lot since 1992 that aren’t on the map because back then they were a lot smaller.

nowadays you can just pull up any map online but back when this map was made it woulda been really cool before you had google maps etc.

I had this as a kid! I must’ve spent hours and hours looking at it over the years.

    6. Big fail on the rim country of Arizona and western New Mexico; should be shaded like Colorado’s mountains. Literally covered in pine forest

Just as I’m thinking of quitting this sub because of all the crappy maps that get posted, someone throws this gem out there. It’s beautiful. I guess I’ll stick around. 😀

I have so many different poster and pamphlet versions of maps by this company. They used to make them for all different cities or regions. Got them over the years at thrift stores.

    9. Where can I get a 3d version? I would plant little flags of places I’ve visited
