Türkiye is more realistic than Canada, Europe still wants Türkiye’s ascension into union and they have no wishes or plans for Canada. EU refused non European countries in the past and and it is non questionable for EU
Australia and NZ wouldn’t join. Not for geography, but rather they have radically different trade and industrial policies and are firmly in the Asia-Pacific trade zones – the EU simply isn’t that important to us relative to our existing partners.

Japan, South Korea? Mexico? May as well build a trade zone with a gdp larger than usa

This makes almost no sense.
Morocco was rejected as a candidate for membership of the European Economic Community (the immediate predecessor of the current European Union) back in the 1980s, if my memory serves me correctly (and I am not suffering from false memory), even though it shares a literal land border (albeit a very small one) with a member state of the EEC/EU.
Why would Canada have any more sense or better opportunities than Morocco did?

Close allies, yes, but not expansion to those places.
Also, UK decided to leave, and Switzerland, Norway and Iceland refused to join.

UK better join again or they’re screwed. Reform growing in the polls despite Brexit ruining productivity in the country. Anyone who thinks it was a good idea 8 years on is living in a fantasy

It’s ironic that Greenland actually currently isn’t in the eu. Geeenland is like jersey constitutionally – defence and foreign affairs are managed by the country with whom they share a head of state, all other matters are handled internally. Both jersey and Greenland were not in the EU either. An interesting little thing when Greenland is so huge on the map and jersey so tiny yet jersey has twice greenlands population.

Britain needs to rejoin too. A recent poll by Deltapoll suggested a new referendum today would result in 58% being in favour of rejoining the EU. Many people who voted leave in 2016 have quite literally died so there is now an argument that what they voted for is no longer the will of the people here right now.

Like… I’m not asking to get the whole WASP treatment but would be nice if LatAm could see more EU cooperation as a counterweight to US influence, cuz rn the only other actual alternative to the US in the region is China, and they are just as predatory if not more
